Masters of Cosplay International 2019
Overview
Running concurrent with FAN EXPO as a whole is the world-famous Masters Of Cosplay, which Eventology’s Fan Guru product powered across web and mobile for all of 2019. This annual tournament sees cosplayers from around the world compete across FAN EXPO’s various events with the sole purpose of being crowned masters.
As entire divisions were digitally available in tandem with the in-person events, entrants were urged to promote themselves on social media, where others would then vote for their favorites and check the latest updates in the app or from the dedicated landing page.
Challenge
Bring an exclusively in-person and siloed experience online to as many people as possible, with little-to-no barriers.
Approach
Create an engagement loop of web >< app >< social in a centralized location. Digitize the entire process to cut down lead-time and to bring agency back to fans.
Key Takeaways
Hundreds upon thousands of attendees engaged with the hybrid experience, with one winner receiving nearly 850 unique votes alone. Total unique votes added up past 20k.
